sure, the right side looks its been left out in the rain, and colours have bled. The black and white images honestly look a little depressing (except perhaps the top) seemingly sharing the same themes of being cloudy, murky or stormy. They’re all sea-based, which would be fine for portion of them, but having them all centered around that motif makes me wonder if anything of interest happens on land in Norway.
the left side – to me just looks a little too much like a child did it, and I’m simply left asking myself – what am I looking at? Maybe the silhouettes (the ones you can make out) mean something to the Norwegians, but it’s certainly not clear.
The whole thing just strikes me as an art project that gets a B-. There’s no real dignity, stateliness, institutional age, history or anything that relates to a country’s heritage or economy.
**Edit** Looking at the source PDF of other proposals that u/dagrami provides below (via the Verge) – the theme of the Sea was their brief, but imo there are some more interesting designs than this.
